ABOUT US
We are a technical business consultancy based in Missouri.
What we do
We provide value creation, marketing strategy, and creative services for science and technology (STEM) businesses.
Who we work with
Science and technology (STEM) businesses
Businesses with a science, technology, or engineering focus make up the lion’s share of our client relationships. It’s not a strict rule, but it is our sweet spot and the foundation for much of our experience.
A few industries we’ve served
Semiconductors (lithography and packaging)
Technical glass and ceramics
Medical devices
Pharmaceuticals
Electrical engineering (magnetic components)
Genomics and bioinformatics
STEM-focused higher education
Are you a good fit?
We are more likely to be a good fit for each other if you are comfortable with lean product development. Basically, this means finding what works and building through continuous improvement rather than going all-in on a single untested idea.
What about non-technical businesses?
Sometimes we work with clients that are completely outside the STEM niche to help bring fresh ideas and experience to the table — a local cocktail bar, or a non-profit foundation, for example. Our approach can be a welcome contrast to what they would normally get from other agencies.

“Andrew has been great to work with over the years. He always delivers quality work with little direction.”

How we work
Value-first
Next to your intellectual property, your value creation strategy is the most critical asset in your portfolio.
We focus on value creation first because it informs every other piece of the go-to-market strategy. When the value is clear, everything else falls into place.
Continuous improvement
We follow the same principles found in lean product development. Rather than going all-in on an untested idea, we test our hypotheses, build on what we learn, and apply that knowledge to the next step.
About Andrew
As the founder and Principal at American Lotus, Andrew uses his vantage point from “outside the camp” to help business leaders get out of their own heads and see the world through the eyes of their customers.
For over 20 years, Andrew has helped scientists and engineers from the lab to the C-suite explain their technology and create clear value propositions that speak directly to their ideal customers.
Having spent many years in creative production, Andrew knows how to work with creative agencies and serve as an interpreter between creative professionals and subject matter experts within the client organization.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys learning about music, wine, art, mindfulness, philosophy, and interfaith dialogue.
